Counselor

Performance Responsibilities

 

This position will provide a comprehensive counseling program for elementary school students and provide support for students/parents/staff.  As such, the counselor will provide a holistic & proactive services which contribute to each student’s educational, vocational, & personal/social development.

 

The following is a list of duties that will assigned to the person hired for the Brandon Valley Elementary School Counselor position.

 

 

• Advisement with students/parents individually, in small/large groups on all aspects of educational planning,
• Individual and small group counseling
• Provide substance abuse recommendations and referrals
• Preventative Guidance Lessons
• College/career/personal/social counseling
• Community Coalition Contact
• Scheduling
• Administer Section 504 and TAT meetings
• Other duties as assigned

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:   Contract as per Negotiated Agreement with the BVEA.

Salary and work year to be established by the Board.

 

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of classroom teachers and other teaching specialists. (AFC-E)
